About Rayfield

In 1967, the current building was built by Pick Chewning where he ran a barber shop and grocery store.

Pick Chewning sold the building to Carl Rayfield and continued barbering on the side of the building. Carl Rayfield added on to the building and both businesses operated side-by-side. Rayfield sold out to Fred Lookabill who in turn sold to Bill Ratliff, Jr. Bill Ratcliff operated it for several years before selling it to Tommy & Brenda Bailey, in April of 2004. Since 2004, the building has operated as Rayfield Meat Center with convenience store, hardware, grill and butchery.

Today Rayfield Meat Center continues a long-standing tradition of serving cut-to- order meats, grilled burgers and other hard to find country store items.
